Volunteer Opportunities at Joshua Tree National Park

Two new opportunities to give back to your public lands are available at Joshua Tree National Park, but the deadline to apply is this Saturday (11/23)

First up – they are looking for exhibit stewards that will help keep the signage and exhibit installations clean and able to provide info to the over 3 millions yearly park visitors. The stationary installations you see at spots like the Cholla Gardens provide info on the surrounding landscape, flora, fauna or anything else of interest in the National Park, and they require yearly maintenance and inspection to stay readable.

Volunteers must be available at least once a week from December to April – serving at least one 4 hour shift.

And the Joshua Tree Clean Team is joining park staff to clean up the Jumbo Rocks at the end of what is sure to be a busy Thanksgiving weekend. The cleanup is taking place from 9AM to noon on Sunday, December 1st, and will remove litter from popular park picnic areas, trailheads, and campgrounds in the heart of the park.
