This Saturday, The Palms in Wonder Valley will host a fundraiser for the victims of LA fires that offers a celebrity line-up of legends: Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Fred Flintstone and George Jetson – or rather, the man who gives them a voice.
To benefit victims of the devastating fires in Los Angeles, The Palms will host a fundraiser event this Saturday featuring Looney Toons celebrity, Bugs Bunny. Bugs will be joined by Daffy Duck, Foghorn Leghorn, Yosemite Sam, Sylvester the Cat, and numerous other characters, all from the mouth of one man, Jeff Bergman.
When the original voice of Bugs – the legendary Mel Blanc – passed in 1989, Bergman was the first to step up to the mic and officially fill that void, ultimately voicing not only Bugs and friends, but characters from the world of Hanna-Barbera, including Fred Flintstone and George Jetson. Older fans might remember him as the voice of “Charlie the Tuna” in a 1987 commercial or the stork in Vlasic pickle commercials back in the 90’s.
Bergman and his wife, voice-actor/comedian, Carla Delaney, will bring their notable talents to the Wonder Valley watering hole on Saturday, March 8, at 4:00 p.m. The show will also include comedy, character voices, Q&A, plus the improv songwriting talents of Harold Payne. Tickets are $30 with all proceeds going to Direct Relief aid organization.
Kevin Bone, manager of The Palms, anticipates a unique and lively show.
“His resume is huge for the voices that he does. So he has generously offered to do a benefit in which all proceeds – and we ask for a $30 donation or more – will go directly to aid for those who need it from the Los Angeles fires. He will be on stage with his wife, Carla Delaney, who is an award-winning comedian, solo artist, also a voice actor, whose voice you may have heard on other shows, and the two of them together are just hysterical,” said Bone.
The two largest wildfires that recently ravaged L.A. County — the Palisades and Eaton fires — are estimated to have caused total property and capital losses ranging between $95 and $164 billion. Over 11,500 homes were lost in the fires and more than 80,000 people have been displaced.
Attendees can reserve their spot by emailing Kevin Bone directly: [email protected]. Tickets will be sold at the door.
