VICTIM OF TUESDAY AMBOY ROAD FATAL HEAD-ON IDENTIFIED

The County Coroner has identified the victim of a Tuesday Amboy Road head-on crash. A 911 call was received at 3:18 p.m. reporting a head-on collision on Amboy road at the southern end of Bristol Dry Lake. Kendra Griffith, a 32-year-old resident of Provo Utah, was driving southbound on Amboy Road when, while passing another vehicle, she went off the roadway onto the northern dirt shoulder and lost control of her vehicle. She came back onto the roadway and struck another vehicle head on. Griffith was pronounced dead at the scene. The female driver and two children in the other vehicle were taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. The Morongo Basin office of the California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
