TWO LANDERS RESIDENTS ACCUSED OF SHOOTING TIRES OF ANOTHER VEHICLE

Two Landers residents were arrested late Tuesday, accused of shooting out the tire of another vehicle. Deputies were called about 10 p.m. to Kickapoo Trail and 5th Avenue in Landers because Jay Gordon, 37, and Rene Kincaid, 50, were arguing with a victim over another man who was living in the area. The victim said Gordon pointed a gun, at which time they began to fight over the firearm. The victim was able to get control of the gun and tried to leave, at which time Gordon pointed a second gun at the victim and fired it, hitting the tire of the victim’s car. Gordon and Kincaid fled in a vehicle. Deputies and Sheriff’s aviation units searched the area for the suspects, and when they were located, Jay Gordon and Rene Kincaid were arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, and unlawful discharge of a firearm. Gordon and Kincaid were booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with their bail set at $50,000 each.
