Twentynine Palms Planning Commission to review permit for Mojaveland miniature golf course

It may soon be putt-putt heaven, once again, as the Twentynine Palms Planning Commission will review a Conditional Use Permit request for a miniature golf course. Known as Mojaveland, a vision of local artist Anna Stump, the quirky 12-hole course was previously a “pop-up” and open just one weekend per month.

The commission will host a public hearing to relocate Mojaveland to a permanent location at 73637 Sullivan Road, at the southwest corner of Sullivan and Adobe Road, just behind Theatre 29.

Utilizing two acres of a 21-acre site owned by the city, the proposal includes an intent to develop a miniature golf course, that would feature a mural painting, sculpture garden, and outdoor classroom. Mojaveland would be in a five-year lease with the City for four acres of land; the additional two acres would leave room for possible future expansion.

The meeting takes place on Tuesday, October 1, at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall, 6136 Adobe Road. It can be livestreamed or viewed on-demand via the city’s website, 29palms.org.
