Twentynine Palms Planning Commission to discuss ‘Container Hotel’ project this week

The Twentynine Palms Planning Commission will meet this week to discuss a proposed ‘container hotel’ project, also known as the Reset Hotel.

On Tuesday evening (February 6), the Twentynine Palms Planning Commission will host its’ bi-monthly meeting with just one agenda item, the advancement of plans for a ‘container hotel’ – that is, tourist lodging made of pre-fabricated steel-framed shipping containers.

Called the Reset Hotel by developers, the commission will discuss a request by NV5, the firm managing the permit process, that Foothill Drive between Bullion Avenue and Split Rock Avenue be vacated, meaning it would no longer be a public-access street. Foothill Drive currently does not serve any residences or businesses. The hotel is set to open in 2025.

The meeting takes place on Tuesday, February 6, at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall, 6136 Adobe Road. It can be livestreamed or viewed on-demand via the city’s website, 29palms.org
