Twentynine Palms Planning Commission meets tonight (10/18)

The Twentynine Palms Planning Commission will gather this evening for two public hearings. The first concerns an appeal of the denial of a Vacation Home Rental (VHR) at 7191 Utah Trail, #2. At the time of the original VHR application submission, the dwelling (one of three units) met code requirements. Later interpretations of the code disallow one permit for all three connected units and would only apply to only one unit.

The second public hearing will discuss the Site Plan and Design Review for the construction of a 100-unit affordable housing project on the northeast corner of Civic Center Drive and Smoketree Avenue. This project centers on a 3.5-acre section of land owned by the City of Twentynine Palms. All units will be offered to low-income seniors and families.

The meeting takes place on Tuesday, October 18, and begins at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall, 6136 Adobe Road, and can be livestreamed or viewed on-demand via the city’s website, 29palms.org
