At this week’s meeting, the Twentynine Palms Planning Commission will consider granting a Conditional Use Permit for a new brewpub located at 73565 Twentynine Palms Highway. Mike Usher, co-owner of Grnd Sqrl (just a few storefronts away), and business partner, Eric Smith, applied last July to establish a “small beer manufacturer and brewhouse/ brewpub” to utilize 2,800 square feet of existing building, plus the addition of a 700-square foot patio. Proposed business hours for the 29 Beer Company would be 6:00 am to 10:00 pm and offer full coffee/espresso bar and to-go breakfast in the mornings. Full beer menu and food items would be offered in the afternoon and evenings.

The commission will then move on to several study sessions starting with the Housing and Homeless Committee which will offer updates on previous decisions. Andrea Keller and Jessica Cure will then present three options for housing the homeless – Adaptive Reuse, New Build, and Home Revitalization Program. An additional discussion will focus entirely on the latter program.

The meeting takes place on Tuesday, January 16, at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall, 6136 Adobe Road. It can be livestreamed or viewed on-demand via the city’s website, 29palms.org
