Twentynine Palms Planning Commission agenda includes building and STR regulations

The Twentynine Palms Planning Commission holds their regularly scheduled meeting this afternoon (October 3). On the schedule are three public hearings. First up, the commission will consider an amendment to the building code that will make it easier to build access to hard-to-reach desert properties. Next is a proposed amendment to bring property development fees into line with state requirements.

The third hearing focuses on changes to the town’s vacation home rental regulations. Changes that will be considered and voted upon is a reduction of the insurance requirement, a limit of permits per parcel, new conditions for approval, and annual requirement that operators take the good neighbor class, and updates to RV storage policies.

As always, comments from the public on these topics and possible future agenda items are welcome.

The Twentynine Palms Planning Commission meeting begins at 5 p.m. at City Hall. You can view the meeting and attend online at www.29palms.org
