Twentynine Palms Planning Commission agenda for 11/19

The Twentynine Palms Planning Commission meets tonight to continue their workshop sessions related to nightlife permitting policies. Also on the docket is utlity requirements coming to the Reset Hotel, formerly known as Wander, which is Planned for a plot south of Boling Drive, east of Bullion Avenue, and west of Adobe Rd.

For discussion under Public Hearings, the Planning Commission may declare the property located at 56756 Homestead Road a Public Nuisance and Dangerous building and adopt resolution number 24. The building is severely dilapidated and the property is a dump site. The property owner will be ordered to either obtain a demolition permit from the Building and Safety department within 20 days to begin demolition within 45 days; or submit plans for reconstruction and obtain a permit within 20 days, with reconstruction to begin within 45 days.

The Reset Hotel deferral of the undergrounding of utilities will be addressed and the Planning Commission will find the following in support of the deferment of installation of underground utilities:

1. Cost estimates prepared by a licensed professional and approved by the City Engineer, shall be provided by the applicant at the time of request.

2. The cost or impact of such undergrounding on adjacent properties exceeds a reasonable cost based on the scale of the proposed project.

3. The property owner shall be required to enter into a deferred improvement agreement.

4. Undergrounding of utilities shall be in a manner consistent with the surrounding improvements.

The Planning Commission meeting will be held at 6136 Adobe Road in Twentynine Palms from 5p.m. on Tuesday November 19.
