Twentynine Palms Planning Commission addresses the Housing Element and General Plan annual reports

Last night’s Twentynine Palms Planning Commission meeting focused on the Housing Element and General Plan Status Annual reports.

During Public Hearings the progress made towards meeting the goals of the Housing Element was addressed. These reports give detailed information regarding building permit activity, which includes both planning and building permit applications for housing developments, the type of housing, and the expected income of the future residents. 965 units are due to be completed by 2029, while three out of eight engineering projects have already been completed. There were no amendments and the Planning Commission voted to approve and forward the Housing Element Annual Progress Report and the General Plan Status Report to the City Council.

Once approved by the City Council these reports will ultimately be submitted to the State Office of Planning Research and the California Department of Housing and Community Development.

There were no Public comments on these hearings. A study session followed the meeting.
