On Saturday February 9th the Twentynine Palms Girls’ Basketball team ended their season in dramatic fashion losing to Burroughs Ridgecrest in Ridgecrest in overtime 82-78.
Coach Tim Stanford said the Wildcats played a wonderful first half and headed into the locker room with a 42 to 31 lead. Foul trouble in the 3rd quarter lead to the Burroughs tying the score at 56. The 4th quarter was back and forth with the Cats down as many as 11. Heart and determination led the ladies back to tie the score at the end of regulation at 73. Kate Bobadilla hit a buzzer beater, from 3 point range, with no time on the clock to send the game into overtime. Bobadilla had an outstanding game with 39 points, Mary Carbiener had 9 points, and Taylor Scamman had 7 points. The ladies had 21 wins and 9 losses while playing a grueling schedule.
