Twentynine Palms High School brings back "Hall of Fame" with three new inductees

After a nine-year hiatus, Twentynine Palms High School is bringing back their Hall of Fame program with three grads set to be inducted this Friday (5/16). The Hall of Fame began in 1991 with six inductees and has since grown to 32 total inductees. The last induction was in 2016, with Larry Bowden being the most recent honoree. Due to the impact of COVID, the Hall of Fame was put on hold, but the school is excited to bring it back this year and plans to hold an induction every other year.The ceremony is set for 9:00am on Friday morning, the event is not open to the public, it’s a small reception for inductees with family. Twentynine Palms High School Activities director Shannon Shay said to qualify for induction into the Hall of Fame, candidates must be graduates of Twentynine Palms High School, serve as a role model for students, graduated at least 5 years ago, (unless there are unusual or extenuating circumstances) and be willing to attend the induction ceremony, unless the award is posthumous. The three being introduced are: Daniel Mintz Sr., A 1975 graduate of Twentynine Palms High school who has lived in Twentynine Palms since 1967. Mintz has been a TPHS softball coach, a little league baseball coach, and the announcer for the TPHS football games for many years. Daniel has been involved in the Elks Club since 1978 and a Rotary member for 30 years. He was elected to the Twentynine Palms City Council in 2010, has been Mayor three times, and continues to serve. Danny continues to volunteer in the community and be a role model for students at Twentynine Palms High school . Kevin Cole, A 1986 graduate of Twentynine Palms High School. Cole is a college graduate, former mayor of Twentynine Palms, high school basketball coach and has won a CIF title. Kevin created a spring basketball league to give children in Twentynine Palms an opportunity other than just hanging out on the streets. Kevin has graciously helped many children with meals on away trips, shown up to many graduations and continues to give to the children in Twentynine Palms. Ariella (Daigneault) Roberts graduated from Twentynine Palms High school in 1999 as Valedictorian and ASB president. She attended USC and graduated in 2003 with a B.A. in Public Relations and a minor certificate in Cinema-Television, Critical Studies. Ariella was hired by Paramount Pictures and worked as an Executive Assistant in their Home Entertainment department before working for East West Marketing Group and then Warner Bros. She was recruited by Disney and joined their Kids Television Franchise team in 2014 leading the Disney Jr. Team. Daigneault-Roberts now holds a unique Executive position at Disney Entertainment Television within the Marketing organization acting as the go-between with divisions and departments to produce “Synergy” promotions and activations. Her network portfolio includes helping to promote popular shows and movies from Disney Channel, Disney Jr., Disney XD, Disney+, ABC and National Geographic.
