The Twentynine Palms Farmer’s Market will be the focus of tomorrow’s meeting (March 19) of the Twentynine Palms Planning Commission.
The meeting has only one agenda item: a public hearing on a resolution regarding the continuance of the farmers market, which is held each Saturday morning at Freedom Plaza off Twentynine Palms Highway near Adobe Road.
The resolution will adjust regulations regarding trash and litter control, improve access to those with disabilities, give city officials approval of new vendors, and raise the insurance coverage of the project. These, and other changes to the terms of the agreement between the City and the organizers of the farmers market will be addressed via a review of the conditional use permit that was granted to the farmers market.
Any changes or modifications agreed upon by the Twentynine Palms Planning Commission will ultimately be reviewed by the City Council at a later date. But if you have an opinion about the Twentynine Palms Farmers Market, voice it at tomorrow’s public hearing, which is part of the meeting that begins at 5 p.m. at Twentynine Palms City Hall.
