Twentynine Palms City Council race certified results, 8 votes separated two candidates

It was a very close race but ultimately, newcomer Octavious Scott won District 4 in the November 8 election for Twentynine Palms City Council.

Coming down to just eight votes, Octavious Scott unseated incumbent Karmolette O’Gilvie to represent District 4 on the Twentynine Palms City Council. With 50.65 percent of the votes, Scott will be officially installed at next Tuesday’s city council meeting, along with unchallenged incumbents, Daniel Mintz for District 3, and McArthur Wright for District 5.
The meeting takes place on Tuesday, December 13, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 6136 Adobe Road, and can be livestreamed or viewed on- demand via the city’s website, www.29palms.org
