Tonight, the Twentynine Palms City Council faces a small agenda, starting with the two vacancies on the Public Arts Advisory Committee (PAAC) following the departures of Chantelle Rodriguez and Wayne Winiecki. City staff has recommended that the council appoint Valerie Mead and Anna Stump to the PAAC, which is traditionally composed of seven voting members.
Next, the council will consider termination of a 2009 parking agreement with Bistro Twenty Nine. Originally, the restaurant could use city property to fulfill their obligation to provide thirteen parking spaces for staff and customers. That same property is now part of the Downtown Traditional zone, which has a policy that states: “Parking in the DT zone is provided via publicly operated parking lots and on-street parking spaces.” Thus, the parking agreement is no longer necessary.
The meeting takes place on Tuesday, September 13, beginning at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 6136 Adobe Road, and can be livestreamed or viewed on-demand via the city’s website, www.29palms.org.
