In Tuesday night’s meeting, the Twentynine Palms City Council will issue a Proclamation recognizing February 2025 as Black History Month.
Two City Council members will be selected to serve as delegate and alternate delegate for the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) Annual General Assembly.
The City Council will review the mid-year budget amendments and interfund transfers for fiscal year 2024-25.
It is recommended that the City Council authorizes the City Manager and Attorney to amend the lease between the National Park Service and the City of Twentynine Palms.
The Amendment would allow the Joshua Tree National Park Association to assume responsibility for all lease obligations for the National Park Cultural Center located in Freedom Plaza, ensuring that it stays operational in the event that the National Park Service is forced to suspend visitor center operations.
