Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians to be recognized at tonight’s MUSD meeting

The Morongo Unified School District Board of Trustees will hold their regular 6 PM meeting tonight at Joshua Tree Elementary.

For the meeting’s agenda, the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians will be recognized for their recent enormous donation of high school football uniforms to the Yucca Valley Trojans and the Twentynine Palms Wildcats.

There will be an enrollment update and Board of Trustees Payment Report from Superintendent of Business Services Sharon Flores, as well as a staffing update from Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Stacy Smalling. It is recommended the Board approve the submission of a revised “Declaration of Need for Fully Qualified Educators” that will remain in force until June 30th, 2025.

The Board is also recommended to approve the Memorandum of Understanding for the three Nutritional Workers to remain 10-month employees between Morongo Unified School District and the California School Employees Association and its Chapter 29. The Board is also recommended to adopt the completed District Facilities Master Plan and Needs Assessment provided by SchoolWorks, Inc.

Lastly, the Board will conduct a public hearing on Textbook Compliance for 2024-25.
