Thought Theatre performs reading of “The Mountaintop” at ARTTRAP Joshua Tree November 23 & 24

Thought Theatre Morongo Basin will present a staged reading of “The Mountaintop” by Pulitzer winning playwright Katori Hall on Saturday November 23 at 7pm and Sunday November 24 2:30pm at ARTTRAP in Joshua Tree. “

The Mountaintop” is set in Memphis Tennesse on the evening of April 3, 1968, the night before Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s assassination. This two-person play stars Kevin Hayles as Dr. King and Veronica Alacantara as Camae, a mysterious woman who pays King a late-night visit and gives him some surprising news. At times poignant and at times humorous, these two share a reflective, touching conversation that exams Dr. King’s triumphs, aspirations and failures.

This limited engagement staged reading of “The Mountaintop” is directed by award winning director Miri Hunter. For tickets and more information about Thought Theatre go to www.thoughttheatremb.com
