THEATRE 29 SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAM CULMINATES THIS WEEKEND

The highly-celebrated Theatre 29 Summer Youth Theatre program will culminate in 6 performances of “Disney’s Moana Jr.” this weekend. Some 60 young people in two age groups have been learning their music and choreography, rehearsing, painting sets and props, and learning to run the lights and sound for the show for past 5 weeks. Tickets for the shows this Friday through Sunday are mostly sold out.

Summer Youth Theatre Program Director Gary Daigneault said “We are not teaching performers; we are teaching audiences. “After a child has learned what it takes to put on a show, they will attend theatre performance for the rest of their lives.”

No children were turned away as fees for the program were kept low with support from the city of 29 Palms Public Arts Commission and the 29 Palms Rotary Club. Theatre 29 is a non-profit, 501( C ) 3 all-volunteer Community Theatre.
