Theatre 29 features an Inland Empire premiere for it’s the first musical production of the 2021-2022 season, the mercurial musical comedy, “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder”. With book and lyrics by Robert L Freedman and music and lyrics by Steven Lutvak, the delightfully deadly production will take the stage October 1 – 24 at Theatre 29 in Twentynine Palms.

Getting away with murder can be so much fun… and there’s no better proof than the knock-‘em-dead hit show that’s earned unanimous raves and won the 2014 Tony Award® for BEST MUSICAL — A GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER!  GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE tells the uproarious story of Monty Navarro (Graham Cooley), a distant heir to a family fortune who sets out to jump the line of succession by – you guessed it – eliminating the eight pesky relatives (all played by Charles Harvey) who stand in his way.  All the while, Monty has to juggle his mistress Sibella (Sabrina Olson), who’s after more than just love, his fiancée Phoebe (Lisa Goldberg), his cousin but who’s keeping track? and the constant threat of landing behind bars! Of course, it will all be worth it if he can slay his way to his inheritance… and be done in time for tea. The featured ensemble players: Scott Clinkscales, Joseph Rego, Ian Ferris, Cindy Daigneault, Anna Alkire & Brittany Vachon-LaGuardia embody no less than 80 characters over the course of the madcap romp.

Under award-winning Artistic Direction of Gary Daigneault, Musical Director Scott Clinkscales and Choreography of Lisa Goldberg, this musical undertaking will be the first major staged musical since March of 2020. Featuring Edwardian era costuming under the design and construction of multi-award winning costume designer Kathryn Ferguson, the music hall inspired set design of Charles Harvey and Gary Daigneault and the technical expertise of Stage Manager Mike Lipsitz and Technical Design of Lisa Goldberg and Gary Daigneault, A GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE TO LOVE AND MURDER is not to be missed!

“A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” will run weekends at Theatre 29 from October 1st through 24th. Theatre 29 follows all CDC and California Department of Public Health Covid guidelines.  In accordance with most public spaces in Southern California, proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of attendance date will be required for all patrons and staff, as well as mandatory audience and staff masking, enhanced surface disinfection and air purification and temperature screenings of all who enter the building.  All performers, staff and crew are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
