Local photographer Denny Truong is hosting a two-day clean-up and campout at Joshua Tree’s popular Sunfair Dry Lakebed this Saturday (October 15th) and Sunday (October 16th).
Sponsored by Forward Observations Group, the free family friendly event is BYO food, drinks, camping gear, and trash bags, with mandatory Leave No Trace policy, though you don’t have to camp to attend. Beginning Saturday at 10am, the day’s schedule starts with clean-up, then relax, eat, and sleep. On Sunday, Truong will be hosting a raffle before another full sweep of the area.
Truong said, “Having been a part of various cleanups in the past with different groups, I always wanted to throw my own because even with the cleanups we did, a month later it’s already trashed again. I hope to turn this into a yearly cleanup.”
The Sunfair Dry Lakebed is located at 65698 Sunfair Road in East Joshua Tree.
