Two structures burn in North Joshua Tree property fire Friday morning (8/4)

A structure fire sent plumes of smoke into the sky Friday morning, and just before 9AM Z107.7 received reports of a property fire tucked in the hills of Northern Joshua Tree.

The property at 3962 Dewey Ave has multiple structures, trailers and vehicles on it. Z107.7 arrived at 9:15AM to San Bernardino County fire crews knocking down the structure fires and surveying the surrounding property looking for hotspots.

The property is surrounded by undeveloped hills and open desert, with Sunfair BLM land about 3 miles to the east.

Robert, the property owner, says he was “ok” and eager to check on his pets.

Z107.7 talked with the property owner – who identified himself only as Robert. He says that the structures that burned were “a couple sheds”, and that he and his two dogs and cat were the only residents on the property.

Firefighters were still performing mop-up operations on the extinguished fire as I talked with Robert, who told me he was eager to get back on the site and check on his pets.

We’ve reached out to San Bernardino County Fire for more information, and as the fire is under investigation, we’ll report more when it becomes available.
