A new state grant will provide outdoor education opportunities to students at Oasis Elementary School in Twentynine Palms. The Joshua Tree Residential Education Experience, affectionately known as “JTREE”, has been awarded $227,000 grant from California’s State Parks and Recreation to provide outdoor access for underserved communities. JTREE chose Oasis Elementary as the school that will participate in an educational program that will have students, families and teachers, engaging with activities and programs inside the national park.
The program, which is titled “Adventure Calling Oasis Elementary School,” will feature activities focused on the desert environment, the night sky, and the natural oasis that exists at their school and revival of that oasis. The program will begin in the fall of 2023 and run through 2026, and is being put on in association with Joshua Tree National Park and Oasis Elementary School.
Additionally, this program is seeking to hire a Camp Director and Field Instructors to operate the planned programs. If you have interest in applying for these employment opportunities – visit www.JTreeOutdoorEd.org
