Show your support for National Park employees at demonstration in downtown Joshua Tree and JOTR

Demonstrators lined Hwy. 62 and Park Boulevard on February 17th

This Saturday, a demonstration is being held in downtown Joshua Tree to show support for National Park employees who have been dismissed as well as the rest of the remaining staff who continue to do their jobs under threat of termination.

This group will be gathering on the corner of Park Boulevard and Highway 62 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The group will then be moving inside the busy national park and will hold a demonstration at Cap Rock from 12:00 to 2:30 p.m.

The protest is part of a nationwide movement to demonstrate at 433 parks, bringing awareness to the cuts that are facing the National Park Service and other federal public land agencies. Saturdays are typically the busiest day of the week and early warm weather means you can expect spring-like visitor numbers at the park.
