Congressman Raul Ruiz of Palm Springs will host the Second Annual Veterans University on Saturday, May 20, at the Palm Springs Convention Center. Registration starts at 8:30, and the program runs from 9 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Veterans University is a free one-day event that will cover topics such as: health care and disability benefits, mental health, transportation, and employment resources for veterans. Presenters from veteran service organizations, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Department of Labor will provide a broad overview of each benefit, followed by practical and detailed information on how to access the benefits described. Registration is limited to 500 participants, so register as soon as possible by calling 760-424-8888. The event will also be streamed live on Facebook.
