Now that the school year officially over, Morongo Unified School District
looks ahead to providing meals to children across the Morongo Basin
during summer break.
Even though the school year is officially over, the Morongo Unified School
District Nutritional Services department reminds the community that meals
will continue to be provided to the general public, ages 0-18, during the
summer break. All children in the district are invited to participate in the
Summer Feeding Program sponsored in conjunction with the USDA and
the National School Lunch Program. There is no paperwork, and each child
will be provided with a nutritious meal absolutely free of charge. For a list of locations and times for meal distribution, contact the MUSD Nutritional Services office at (760) 367-9191, extension 4263
Meals will be distributed beginning on June 21 at the following locations
and times:
Twentynine Palms Junior High School – June 21 to July 28, Monday to
Thursday. Breakfast – 9:15 to 9:30 a.m. / Lunch – 10:30 to 10:45 a.m.
Twentynine Palms Community Services Center – June 21 to July 28,
Monday to Thursday. Breakfast – 8:45 to 9:00 a.m. / Lunch – 11:15-11:30
a.m.
Knotts Sky Park – June 21 to July 28, Monday to Thursday. Lunch – 11:00-
11:15 a.m.
Oasis Elementary School – June 21 to July 21, Monday to Thursday.
Breakfast – 9:15-9:30 a.m. / Lunch – 10:30 -10:45 a.m.
La Contenta Middle School – June 21 to July 28, Monday to Thursday.
Breakfast – 9:15 to 9:30 a.m. / Lunch – 10:30-10:45 a.m.
Yucca Mesa Elementary School – June 21 to July 21, Monday to Thursday.
Breakfast – 9:15-9:30 a.m. / Lunch – 10:30-10:45 a.m.
Joshua Tree Elementary School – June 21 to July 21, Monday to Thursday.

Lunch – 9:45-10:15 a.m.
Meals will also be available on Saturday, June 25 and Friday, July 8. The
will not be meal service on July 4.
