An unusually large agenda awaits County Supervisors at tomorrow’s (November 15, 2022) 10 a.m. meeting in San Bernardino. Several items on the consent calendar are unique to our Morongo Basin although our third district supervisor, Dawn Rowe, will be 6,827 miles away from the board meeting room.
Supervisor Rowe is representing the county at a symposium on international education in our region’s sister city, Taoyuan City, in Taiwan. Closer to home, county supervisors are expected to allocate $30,000 from discretionary funds for an economic impact study of the King of the Hammers gigantic off-road vehicle racing event held in Johnson Valley each year. And among other items tomorrow, the board is expected to approve designation of the Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree as a Level IV Trauma Center. The designation will allow the hospital to provide initial stabilizing trauma care to patients.
Tomorrow’s meeting will be live streamed to the video conferencing facility at the Bob Burke Government Center in Joshua Tree where the public may attend and comment. See this story at Z1077FM.com for instructions on all the options for viewing or participating in tomorrow’s meeting.
