There is a free film screening at the Harrison House in Joshua Tree. Jef Harmatz joins us with a closer look at the event.
The short documentary film “Saging the World” explores the trend of using white sage to purify spaces and clear bad energy. The popularity of the plant has resulted in the native plant being poached to meet the international demand for the native plants, and the film spotlights the ecological and cultural issues intertwined with white sage, centering the voices of Native advocates who have long protected and cherished this plant.
The filmmaker Rose Ramirez will be at the screening, joining Craig Torres and Eva Soltes for a discussion about the film after it screens. Tickets for tonight’s event is free – but you must RSVP on their website.
