Report of shots fired leads to homicide investigation in Joshua Tree

The Sheriff’s Specialized Homicide Division is investigating an incident that occurred last night in the Avenidas Neighborhood of Joshua Tree. Homicide Investigator Sergeant Jerry Moreno told Z107.7 News that deputies from the Morongo Basin Station responded to reports of shots fired in the 4700 Block of Avenida La Manana sometime shortly after midnight.

The Homicide detail subsequently was notified and were on scene today (2/16) collecting evidence.

The investigation is ongoing and Z107.7 will have more information as it becomes available.
