ALL ROADS REOPEN IN JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK AFTER MONSOON FLOODS

UPDATE 8/10:

All roads and access to the south entrance of Joshua Tree National Park are now reopened. Monsoon rains and floods previously closed off Pinto Basin Road and I-10 access to Cottonwood Visitor Center – but crews have cleared roads and reopened southern access to the national park.

UPDATE 8/9: Joshua Tree National Park has reported that storm damage is worse than anticipated and have kept the Cottonwood Visitor Center closed, as well as the entire Southern boundary of the park. There is no park access via I-10 at this time.

Visitors can check the Joshua Tree National Park website for current road conditions and alerts.

UPDATE 8/9: Pinto Basin Road is still closed – but the Cottonwood Visitor Center is accessible from the south side of the park via I-10.

Monsoon rain and flooding has closed Pinto Basin Road in Joshua Tree National Park – there is heavy flooding in the Turkey Flats area. Access to I-10 through the National Park is closed.
