Phog Masheen’s Experimental Sound show tonight includes sound effects expert Eric Potter (Beetlejuice, The Dark Knight)

As heard on Z107.7’s Local Music Showcase and Space Cowboy’s Simultaneous Times podcast, Joshua Tree’s most consistent yet mercurial experimental music acts Phog Masheen have put together another unpredictable avant garde show at the Beatnik Lounge. This evening, Phog Masheen’s Marc and Francine’s junkyard electronic sound sculptures will be joined by Eric Potter’s Magic Gas.

Potter has been recording sound effects since 1990 and has worked on such films as Edward Scissorhands, Independence Day, Inception, The Dark Knight and Interstellar. He has captured the sounds of big rig trucks, and tiny little flowers, creating unusual and beautiful sounds with his electric guitars and effect pedals. He has played and recorded with Frank Black, Billy Talbot, and CAN’s Malcolm Mooney.

Along with Phog Masheen and Eric Potter, The Experimental Sound show will be rounded out with The Cloud and Clay Ant. Donations for the artists will be graciously accepted but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
