LOCAL RED CROSS IN IMMEDIATE NEED FOR BOARD MEMBERS
THE LOCAL CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN RED CROSS NEEDS SOME HELP. THEY HAVE AN IMMEDIATE AND URGENT NEED FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO STEP UP TO SERVE ON THEIR BOARD OF DIRECTORS. REPORTER DAN STORK PUTS OUT THE CALL -----
THE MORONGO BASIN CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN RED CROSS IS LOOKING FOR 5 OR MORE ADDITIONAL COMMUNITY-MINDED INDIVIDUALS TO SERVE ON ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS. THE CHAPTER HAS A LONG HISTORY OF SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY, THE STATE, AND THE NATION IN TIMES OF DISASTERS, AS WELL AS A LEVEL OF VOLUNTEER INVOLVEMENT THAT IS UNUSUAL IN RED CROSS CHAPTERS. TO CONTINUE THAT TRADITION, ACCORDING TO CHAPTER EXECUTIVE CANDACE FRITZ, THE CHAPTER NEEDS THE TALENTS OF, AND SOME TIME FROM, PEOPLE WHO WILL "OVERSEE THE GOVERNANCE" OF THE CHAPTER. THAT CONSISTS OF ADVISING ON THE POLICIES THAT ARE USED TO RUN THE CHAPTER. BOARD MEMBERS WILL ALSO BE LOOKED TO FOR IDEAS AND ENERGY FOR FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES. BUT THE HIGHEST SINGLE PRIORITY AT THIS TIME IS FOR A BOARD MEMBER WHO WILL SERVE AS TREASURER OF THE CHAPTER. THE BASIC TIME COMMITMENT FOR ANY BOARD MEMBER IS ONE MEETING PER MONTH. FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT SERVICE ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE MORONGO BASIN CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN RED CROSS, CALL CANDACE FRITZ AT 366-5330. YOU CAN ALSO EMAIL HER AT MBARCEXEC@VERIZON.NET. CHAPTER OFFICES ARE LOCATED AT 6416 HALLEE ROAD IN JOSHUA TREE. ITS REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS ARE 9 TO 5, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. IT HAS ITS OWN WEB SITE AT HTTP://WWW.MORONGOBASIN-REDCROSS.ORG.
