MVCSD hold public hearing for 2024-25 Preliminary Budget tonight

The Morongo Valley Community Services District Board of Directors will hold their regular 6 PM meeting tonight in Covington Park’s multipurpose room.

For tonight’s agenda in new business, it is recommended the Board will review, discuss, and approve the Resolution Authorizing Application for the Federal Excess Personal Property Program in Accordance with Cooperative Forestry Assistance Act of 1978. There is no cost to join the FEPP program and the property is free on a loan basis for as long as the department needs the equipment. The only monetary cost to the fire department is during the acquisition process for the logistics of pick up, for repairs and maintenance of property, as well as insurance and liability costs.

There will be an open public hearing on the Preliminary Budget for Fiscal Year 2024-25, followed by adoption of a workplace reduction policy consistent with fiscal year budget and layoff procedure set forth in Article 8 of the District’s Memorandum of Understanding with International Association of Firefighters Local 5028.
