Yucca Valley Material Lab experimental music concerts through October

2

On Sunday, October 16, at 5 p.m., Katinka Klein and Lia Kohl present new performance work for ten broken cellos. The work responds to the sounds and landscape of the desert. Klien and Kohl are accomplished cellists, composers, and improvisers whose shared practice takes a performative approach to the cello as an object. Their work includes a series of works for cellos in public pools.

Additional events include an evening of contemporary avant-garde Japanese music on Saturday, October 22, at 7 p.m., and an evening of local experimental ambient music with Rocio Zavala, No Translation, Caroline Partamian, and MTN GRL on October 29 at 7 p.m. or more information and to register, go to yuccavalleymaterial.org
