MUSD SUPERINTENDENT ISSUES LETTERS ON SCHOOL SAFETY

In response to the tragic school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, outgoing Superintendent of the Morongo Unified School District Doug Weller issued two letters regarding safety measures the district implemented in schools across the district.
One letter was directed to district staff and another letter was sent to district parents. Both letters outlined the safety measures in place at sites in the district including the use of security fencing; surveillance cameras; visitor check-ins via the Raptor system; and uniformed School Resource Safety Officers.
Weller pledged to continue to prioritize school safety by looking into implementing new safety measures like bulletproof film over windows and keyless entry systems.
Finally, he urged the importance of vigilance in the community and on social media. Remember, if you see something, say something.
