MUSD Board of Trustees hold regular meeting tonight at Joshua Tree Elementary

There will be a policy update to clarify use of “employee organization,” “recognized employee organization,” “exclusive representative,” and “bargaining unit,” with additional clarification of Public Employee Relations Board opinions regarding when a district may restrict the wearing of union buttons, insignia, or other pictorial or written messages by employees, when a district may limit an employee organization’s ability to communicate with its members, and what constitutes “reasonable restrictions” by a district.

In addition, policy updated to remove outdated material related to COVID-19, and reflect NEW LAW, extending the Safe at Home address confidentiality protection to victims of child abduction and members of their households. 

Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources Stacy Smalling will give recommendations for Certificated and Classified Personnel salary schedules, and the Board is recommended to vote yes on approving Yucca Mesa Elementary’s 6th grade Science Camp field trip to Running Springs.

There will reports on Board of Trustees payment, a Board purchases, and a payroll summary, as well as fundraising event reports for Landers, Onaga, and Twentynine Palms Elementary.
