The Morongo Valley Community Services District Board of Directors will hold their regular meeting tonight at 6 p.m. in Covington Park’s multipurpose room.
For new business, the board will be officially presenting the 2024 Chuck Osborne Award to Tammy Stogner of the Morongo Valley Youth Softball League for her outstanding volunteer work in Morongo Valley. Out of six nominees recommended by community members, Stogner was chosen for the award at last month’s meeting by the MVCSD board members in attendance.
It is recommended the board review, discuss, and approve a date for the 2025-26 budget workshop, and discussions will continue for the CSD’s acquisition of a wood chipper for Covington Park, to be donated by Richard Brewer of the Morongo Valley Fire Safe Council. After it’s determined to be in working condition, the CSD says the woodchipper will be highly beneficial to the park, efficiently turning fallen tree branches into mulch to be recycled back into the public space.
