LISTEN TO THIS STORY HERE:
In the Morongo Basin, there are two things we can pretty much count on in the first week of October: great weather and the Morongo Basin Orchid Festival. Organizers are gearing up for the 26th annual event which draws crowds from all over the country.
New vendors and returning favorites like Joshua Tree Brewery and Lovin Smoke are already making preparations. The festival committee is taking applications for two food vendors, and the search is also on for a caffeinated beverage or coffee vendor. Proper permits are required to participate.
Vendor booths for the two-day event are still available. Organizers also have their ears out for a band that plays easy listening music.
The band will play to crowds at the huge fundraising event Saturday, October 1st from10:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
