Summer monsoons have created major flash floods that have washed out roads and limited access for areas of Mojave National Preserve and Death Valley National Park. In Mojave – Hole in the Wall, Barstow HQ and Kelso Visitor centers are all closed, and visitors are urged to drive carefully as many paved roads that aren’t washed out still may have storm debris on them. In Death Valley, the North Highway by Scotty’s Castle Road, Lower Wildrose Road, Dante’s View and Badwater are all closed from the storm.
