Juneteenth, a federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, will be celebrated locally as ‘Twentynine Palms Juneteenth’ on June 17.
Twentynine Palms Juneteenth, the local version of the national holiday recognizing the end of slavery in America, will be a family-friendly event celebrating the history and contributions of African-Americans to our culture.
Events will take place on June 17th at Knotts Sky Park in Twentynine Palms from noon until 8:00 p.m. Women of Color Global 29 are presenting the event which will feature a talent showcase, poetry reading, live performances, food vendors, and local merchants.
