2025’s Miss Yucca Valley is Audrey Grady, she’s a 16 year-old junior at Yucca Valley High School, and she’s lived in Yucca Valley her whole life.

Grady took time away from her schoolwork and duties as Miss Yucca Valley to chat with Z107.7 about what she likes about Yucca Valley, the impact she wants to make, and her plans for the future. Here’s your Miss Yucca Valley, Audrey Grady.

“I like the community, kind of away from everything. Sometimes it can be annoying if you have to drive far to do something a little bit more interesting. But I like how everybody knows each other. Everyone is just a part of the same community and I like that.”

What kind of impact would you like to have on Yucca Valley?

“I’d like people to feel like they are being heard, in that their ideas and concerns actually matter. That people take them into consideration and work to apply them in different organizations.”

“Especially young people. They don’t get to have a voice.”

The Miss Yucca Valley program begins each year in October and the girls meet weekly until the pageant in February. Sponsored by the Yucca Valley Sunset Rotary, rotarian John Babrowski says that the program consists of mentorship from the previous year’s entrants, now high school seniors, and juniors who serve as the new entrants.

“I went into the program because it was something that I wasn’t known for doing and it was more out of my comfort zone. I wanted to learn how to think quicker on my feet. Learn how to talk with people in a more professional way, especially adults, because I’m not used to that.

“Overall, it’s been very beneficial. The program teaches you how to be okay with who you are.”

At the pageant held on February 8, several girls were awarded scholarships, but Grady was named Miss Yucca Valley, snagging the top prize.

“I won a $2,000 scholarship. I want to go to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and study aerospace engineering and physics. I want to either work for either NASA or SpaceX and become an analytical engineer.”

Keep an eye out for Miss Yucca Valley Audrey Grady and her court. They will be involved with and making appearances at events all over Yucca Valley in the coming year. And keep your eyes to the sky to see some of the space-faring projects she’ll no doubt be working on in the coming years.
