The Mojave Desert Land Trust works to protect wildlife corridors connecting the desert’s conservation lands. The newest acquisitions include a rugged 10-acre parcel north of Joshua Tree National Park; forty acres in the Rice Valley Wilderness; five acres in the Old Woman Springs Wilderness; a 10-acre parcel in the Jacumba Mountains Wilderness; and 40 acres in Mojave Trails National Monument. Within the Mojave National Preserve, a total of 60 acres of healthy scrubland, Joshua Tree forests, and desert tortoise lands were acquired.
