On Monday, January 15, there will be a march in Twentynine Palms to honor the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr with the theme: “Living The Dream: It Starts With Me – Spreading Hope, Courage and Unity.”
Participants should arrive at 7:45 a.m. at Little Church of the Desert, 6079 Adobe Road. At 8:00 a.m., the march begins and heads just one mile north to Palms Baptist Church, 5285 Adobe Road. At 9:00 a.m., the MLK Prayer Bowl begins in the sanctuary.
Mayor Steve Bilderain will be present a proclamation to Twentynine Palms Bible Baptist Church recognizing 25 consecutive years of hosting the event. The service will include quotes from Dr. King’s, words from local and worship from The Sanctuary Church Praise Team, an expressive dance from The Sanctuary Church and a solo from Curtis Roavemore, a member of Palms Baptist Church.
A sack lunch will be provided after the service.
Just a reminder that Monday is a Federal holiday and all government buildings, like the post office, will be closed.
