A Yucca Valley man was cited for trespassing and arrested for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence after speeding past the checkpoint at the Twentynine Palms Marine Corps Base.

Just before midnight on Thursday, September 22, staff at the Marine Corps Base report that Devon Ulibarri, a 37 year-old civilian from Yucca Valley, drove his Harley Davidson motorcycle past base checkpoints at the main entrance. They report that Ulibarri quickly turned his motorcycle around, at which point military police conducted a felony stop, noticing that he was possibly intoxicated.

Military police spoke with Ulibarri, who said that he came on to the base unintentionally, and was attempting to meet friends in the city of Twentynine Palms. The Marine’s Provost Marshal Office contacted the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Office at around 7 a.m. on Friday morning.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded and also determined that Ulibarri may have been intoxicated. Devon Ulibarri was cited by the Provost Marshal Office for Trespassing, and arrested by Sherriff’s Deputies for suspicion of DUI and booked, cited and released.
