At the January San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors meeting, James Lawrence (Larry) Bowden was unanimously appointed to a four year term as Board Director for the Twentynine Palms Water District. He was enthusiastically welcomed to the Board by the other Directors.
Many were dreading the day that Cindy Byerrum retired after 12 years of expert financial management with the District. Starting Line Advisory was approved to take over the financial and accounting services and comes with ten years of financial experience with the Twentynine Palms Water District.
The District requested proposals to purchase a 330 kilowatt Generac emergency generator trailer. The Board approved the bid from Energy Management Corporation out of Las Vegas, whose bid was $9,000 less than the other proposals.
Included in the capital improvement plan under vehicle/equipment replacement is a new valve exerciser. This exerciser will save the District thousands of dollars on new valve replacement and the injury potential to field staff will be greatly lessened.
