Landers Homestead Valley Community Association looks at 2025 priorities in last meeting of the year

Last night, the Landers Homestead Valley Community Association gathered to assess and discuss the area’s priorities for the coming year, via a ranked survey of issues impacting residents.

The survey covered items like the reopening of Fire station 19 in Landers; lack of a Post Master and adequate staffing at the increasingly busy Landers post office; law enforcement issues like squatting, illegal narcotics and dumping; highway and off-road safety; road maintenance; Association fundraising; family-friendly upgrade at the Homestead valley park and other items. This survey will be distributed at the next several meetings in order to get a representative tally of what members consider the most important neighborhood issues which should be addressed first.

Under the Public Safety reports new Battalion chief Jeff Allen shared that this area will receive an ATRV – all terrain response vehicle, so fire trucks no longer have to be driven into unsuitable areas and get stuck. Also Fire station 42 on Aberdeen Drive in Yucca Valley will receive a new fire truck very shortly.

The Mojave Water Agency will sponsor a free, online, three-month “Edible Gardening” class on Thursdays from January 30 to May 8 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Clause’s Children crafting and cookie celebration will be held at Belfield Hall, 58380 Reche Road in Landers on Saturday December 21st from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

RSVP at [email protected]

The next Landers Association meeting is on Monday January 13.
