The newly elected Board of Directors were sworn in by 3rd District County Supervisor Dawn Rowe’s Field representative Glen Harris.
The officers are:
Mike Lipsitz – President
Randy Brill – Vice President
Judy Laffoon – Treasurer
Stephanie Kern – Secretary
Seven directors were also sworn in.
Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Sergeant Daniel Berumen told the meeting that more reports regarding squatters are coming in, as residents are being encouraged to call authorities when long-vacant buildings are suddenly occupied. He assured meeting attendees that calls from the public are never a waste of time.

Field representative Glen Harris reported on a $28 million road improvement project which will widen Highway 247 from Highway 62 in
Yucca Valley to Gin road in Landers, and will include bike lanes.
He also informed the meeting about the 11th Annual Woof Walk which will take place on Saturday May 3rd at Essig Park in Yucca Valley.
Registration begins at 10am; the Woof walk is from 11am to 3pm and will benefit the Joshua Tree No-Kill Shelter. Enjoy a day filled with
music, food, local vendors, silent auction, kid friendly activities and of course a parade of dogs around the park.
The March Tire Roundup was a huge success and four, twenty-two foot rolloffs were filled with 1,300 tires, while another 3 rolloffs hauled
off lay-z-boys, water heaters, strollers and much more trash.
