JUVENILE PRANK CALLER ARRESTED IN YUCCA VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL SWATTING INCIDENT

A 15-year-old male from Yucca Valley was arrested last Friday (August 27), after an alleged prank call to law enforcement, also called “swatting.” The call triggered lockdown of Yucca Valley High School by Sheriff’s Deputies last Wednesday (August 25) after the caller reported a student on campus had a firearm and that they were pointing it at other students. The involved parties named in the call were contacted at the location and cooperated with deputies during their investigation. Following a thorough search of  the campus where no weapon was found, deputies determined the report was false and the lockdown was lifted after about 20 minutes. The juvenile identified in the investigation of the false police report was arrested and booked into the San Bernardino Juvenile Detention Center.
