‘JT Facelift’ Community Clean-Up Event this weekend Apr. 14-15

JT Facelift, a community clean up event organized by the Yosemite Climbing Association and Friends of Joshua Tree, is happening this Saturday, April 15, with rousing before and after parties scheduled at the event hub, Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground, 2601 Sunfair Road, in Joshua Tree.

For over 20 years, the Yosemite Climbing Association has been organizing clean-ups in their area and recently began branching out efforts into other outdoor and climbing communities in the US and Mexico. The JT Facelift will focus on Twentynine Palms, Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, and several specific areas within Joshua Tree National Park.

The pre-party is on Friday, April 14, at 7:00 p.m. and will feature guest speakers, astronomers, and beer by San Diego’s Pure Project Brewery.

Participants can pre-register online or at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning as a Kodiak-sponsored pancake breakfast is served. (Please bring a reusable plate and cutlery.) The clean-up crews will then disperse and commence face-lifting from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The afterparty will go down at 5:00 p.m. with food by GRND SQRL, beer by Pure Project, music, and a prize raffle.

Local businesses supporting JT Facelift include Wandering Mojave Hiking Services, Joshua Tree Music Festival, GRND SQRL, Cliffhanger Guides, Joshua Tree Excursions, and Autocamp.
